Digital Goa, Apr 19 – Benaulim Panchayat today issued fresh stop work order for the work of pipeline to be used for discharging treated sewage water from the Colva sewerage treatment plant(STP) to the river Sal. Earlier in the day, many villagers gathered at the panchayat alleging that the issuing of stop work order was being delayed. Villagers are opposing the project alleging that releasing of the treated effluents in the river will further contaminate the already polluted river. Panchayat had denied permission to the project in the initial phases. Despite the opposition govt started the work by informing the panchayat that their permissions were not required for such projects, informed Dy Sarpanch.
