Curtains come down on 52nd International Film Festival of India

Digital Goa, Nov 28 – Curtains came down on the 52nd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in a glittering event at the Shymaprasad Stadium at Bambolim today in the presence of Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur, CM Pramod Sawant, Bollywood actors Madhuri Dixit Nene, Manoj Bajpayee, Randhir Kapoor etc. were present at the event. Lyricist Prasoon Joshi was honoured with the ‘Indian Personality of the Year’ award. The festival was held from Nov 20 to Nov 28 in Goa. While speaking at the closing ceremony, CM Sawant reiterated that the state looks forward to setting up a post production center and a film city with the help of center. Union Minister Thakur said in his address that Goa can compete with Uttar Pradesh where a film city is being constructed on 1,000 acres land. A DPR of Rs 6000 crore has been approved by the UP govt for the project. “On one hand Goa will be competing on the other hand Uttar Pradesh will be providing facilities to film makers,” said Thakur.
