Digital Goa, Nov 28 – CM Pramod Sawant will hold a meeting with Health Department and govt officials in view of the threat of new covid 19 virus variant Omicron. “We are strictly following the central govt guidelines consistently. A meeting is scheduled tomorrow with health department in this regards. Airports, Railway stations etc have been alerted,” informed Sawant while listing the slew of measures initiated by his govt amidst reports of the omicron infection spreading in some parts of the world. He also added that international passengers coming to Goa we are being monitored. “People also should take precautions and be especially alert about people who come from other states,” said Sawant. The coronavirus strain B.1.1.529, named ‘Omicron’ has been announced as a variant of concern last week by the World Health Organisation (WHO). Center today issued revised guidelines for international travellers in view of Omicron variant COVID-19.
