Digital Goa, Sept 29 – Schools in Goa will start in phased manner once the Task force gives a go ahead to the recommendations on the expert committee in this regards, informed CM Pramod Sawant today. “It’s quite possible that the schools may start before Diwali vacation,” said CM. Task force constituted for monitoring the developments related to prospective third wave of covid will hold a meeting sometime early next month and deliberate on the recommendations given by the Expert Committee of starting classes for Std IX to Std XII. Expert Committee comprises of medical health professionals. After approval by the task force Education Dept will initiate the process to start the classes in a step by step manner, starting with Std XII and X , then Std XI and IX followed by practicals, said Sawant. CM was speaking to media persons during the launch of National Initiative for School Heads and Teachers for Holistic Advancement (NISHTHA) 3.0.
5602 teachers in Goa to be trained under NISHTHA 3.0
Nearly 5,602 teachers across the state will be trained under the program from Oct 21 to March 22. NISHTHA is a national level capacity building programme for improving Quality of School Education through Integrated Online Teacher Training that aims to build competencies among all the teachers and school Principals at the elementary stage. The program is an initiative of the Centre for effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Strict action will be taken against tourists violating laws
Sawant said that he will initiate strict action against unruly tourists who violate laws in the state. He was referring to the viral video of tourists rising vehicles on beaches.
Dramas and tiatr performances permitted with 50 % capacity by following covid SOP
As per the latest SOP dramas and tiatrs can be organized in villages and cities with 50 % capacity by following all covid norms said Sawant.
No shortage of hospital beds in Goa
He also asserted that there is no shortage of hospital beds in the state.
