Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday directed the government departments to adopt at least one village under the Atmanirbhar Bharat, Swayampurna Goa
initiative.
Sawant chaired a meeting of the empowered working group for the cause of Atmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa on Tuesday and reviewed the achievements of individual stakeholders under the Swayampurna Goa mission.
Directing the departments to adopt at least one village, the Chief Minister asked each head of the departments to visit the adopted villages at least once a week.
He said the departments should adopt villages so that they can implement all the government schemes in the adopted villages after identifying the probable beneficiaries. Sawant said it was important that the heads of the departments visit the villages to understand the ground-level problems.
Aiming at making the state self-reliant, the Goa government launched the Atmanirbhar Bharat, Swayampurna Goa initiative on October 2, 2020.
