Curchorem MLA and Power Minister Nilesh Cabral on Thursday commissioned a 200 KV transformer at Ghanemorod Xeldem in Curchorem constituency.
Xeldem ZP Sidharth Gauns, local panch Gauri Gauns, panch Pramod Gauns, Vithoba Naik, Joshua Fernandes, BJP mahila president Rajani Naik and others were present on the occasion.
Speaking to media Cabral said it was a long pending demand of the local people to upgrade the line hence there was low voltage due to consumer load. Accordingly EE Mhalselkar, AE Sunil and the subordinate staff made a lot of efforts to install the transformer. Now there will be no problem to the people of Ghanemorod regarding power supply. The work became easy as sidelining the routine procedure of making estimates, tendering the work etc the department directly procured the required material and installed the transformer he said.
ZP Sidharth Gauns appreciated the initiative taken by the Power Minister for the installation of the transformer. The minister had personally visited the houses in Ghanemorod area and had heard the grievances of the people. Considering the issue of low
voltage he immediately directed the concerned authorities to install the 200 Kv transformer and the same has been done today, he said.
