‘ OBC Commission should have been asked to prepare requisite data well in advance ‘
Commenting on OBC reservations for Panchayat elections Lobo said, given that the elections were due in June, the OBC Commission should have been asked by the govt to give the data in advance so that the reservation process could be completed well in time as per SC mandated triple test. Stating that Congress was in favour of giving due reservations to OBCs, he added, “Whatever decision the govt takes should fit within framework of High Court and earlier Supreme Court order which states that if the govt is not ready with the OBC data they should go ahead with the elections sans OBC reservations.”
