Huge rally held in Valpoi demanding land right to houses & farm lands

Digital Goa, Jan 26 – Hundreds of people from different parts of Sattari held a rally in Valpoi this morning demanding rights to their lands on the occasion of republic day. All the speakers stressed that people of Sattari have been deprived of land rights despite living there and cultivating these lands for generations. They warned the govt to hand them over their land rights or face the consequences. Four resolutions were passed during the public meeting
Excluding land under cultivation from Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary ,denotification of the boundary and transferring the land rights to the cultivators
In case of dwellings -removing the name of government as owner on I & XIV form and transferring the land rights on the name of the house owners
Transferring all lands mentioned as Alvara, Class II ,encroacher etc on the names of the cultivators and dwellers
Mokasdari system to be abolished and Mokaso land to be transferred in the name of cultivators and dwellers.
